recent work

my creative work in recent months has taken me towards current world issues

The devastation caused by the recent conflict in the Middle East has bought images to the world’s media. The war across the region has created a crisis: millions of refugees fleeing the destruction of their cities and homelands. I have been drawn to images of blighted, war-torn cities destroyed by the military might of superpowers alongside the country’s own leaders, and of course, the consequences: the plight of the homeless, the refugee. I have sought to create 2D and 3D interpretations based on the theme of an epic journey entitled, ‘Odyssey’.

I have continued my painting of land and seascape and these now are influenced by my concern for climate change: the potentially devastating effects upon our weather patterns and rising seas. In my recent studies, I hope to portray more vividly the elemental, destructive forces of nature and the human struggle to survive.
